Managed IT Services Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Managed IT Services Specialist to join our team. The candidate must be a self-starter and able to effectively communicate with clients on a technical and non-technical level. Must be a team player and interact well with staff and management. Position requires independence and accountability as well as a cooperative effort. The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Must be reliable, bright, articulate, professional and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced professional and client-focused environment. Responsibilities for Managed IT Services Specialist:
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, cloud platforms, Backup and Recovery solutions and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes using Datto AutoTask
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to client’s staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of their IT infrastructure
  • Perform regular maintenance operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved promptly with limited disruptions
Qualifications for Managed IT Services Specialist
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of network administration, or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with Autotask and Datto technologies a plus
  • Experience with Cloud concepts and technologies (cloud Director, Amazon, OpenStack, etc.)
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2012R2/2016/2019
  • Experience in Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 implementation, migration, and administration – including Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive, Teams for cloud as well as Hybrid scenarios
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Datto Autotask
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
